A reliable Combolands building tier list is not available yet. The official public material does not expose a complete current compendium for 120+ buildings, and launch updates were still correcting scoring previews, triggers, temporary effects and unlock values. Publishing S, A and B ranks now would create unsupported conclusions rather than useful guidance.
Why the ranking is pending
A tier list needs a stable roster, a defined patch, consistent evaluation criteria and repeatable observations across different islands and guild pairs. None of those requirements can be satisfied from the official store summary alone. A few visible examples cannot represent more than 120 buildings.
Official v1.0.3 and v1.0.4 notes also document changes that directly affect perceived strength. A building whose preview or trigger was broken can look weak for the wrong reason. A static launch-week rank can therefore become obsolete immediately.
What evidence is required
The first requirement is a current compendium with exact names, guild ownership, effects, upgrades and terrain rules. The second is a test protocol that separates general consistency from peak combo potential. The third is enough runs to observe different maps and partner guilds.
Each result should record version, rank, progression state and whether the building was evaluated as setup, payoff or support. Failed and awkward draws must remain in the sample. Otherwise the list rewards highlight screenshots rather than practical value.
A future evaluation framework
| Dimension | Question | | --- | --- | | Flexibility | How often does the building have a useful legal placement? | | Consistency | Does it contribute without a rare setup? | | Synergy | How many verified chains can it support? | | Opportunity cost | Does it consume scarce terrain or trigger space? | | Scaling | Does its value persist as the city grows? | | Version stability | Has its behavior been recently changed or fixed? |
These dimensions are a test plan, not published ranks. No building receives a letter grade on this page until the data exists. Pages for placement and combos provide actionable help without pretending to solve the missing dataset.
